Getting a Metal Garage

Nobody likes fighting the wind, rain, or snow to get into their car and drive to work every morning. If you live in an area where snow, wind, and rain are an issue, or even the hot, blazing sun -- you need to have a place to park your car that protects your vehicle and you from these harsh elements. And not all of us are lucky enough to have enough garage space (or even a garage at all) at home to store an automobile or other vehicle. If that is the case, a less expensive and easier alternative to building or expanding a garage is to buy yourself a metal garage. Metal garages are available in a number of different sizes and styles. They¡¯re also easy to order, install, and use. These versatile metal structures are made of steel and are available virtually everywhere. They can also be installed almost anywhere; all you need is a concrete slab or level ground to put one on and you¡¯re ready to go. Some companies will even deliver and install your metal garage for you. A metal garage which will hold one car is generally around 12 feet wide, 21 feet long, and about five feet tall. A metal garage that can house two vehicles will be about the same dimensions, but about 18 feet wide. Even wider metal garages can be purchased which will accomodate three or more cars. Ever want to have a fleet of cars to rival even Jay Leno? A metal garage can help you to store and display them. Metal buildings are very customizable. Different roof and eave designs are available, along with varying colors. All of these specializations can be ordered for any type of metal garage to suit your needs, along with a choice of steel gauge, usually 12 or 14. The lower the number, the stronger the guage of steel and the stronger your garage will be. Higher gauge steel will cost more, though, making 14 guage a more cost efficient option. Metal garage rooves are usually of a lighter 29 guage of steel. Flexibile in their appearance, metal garage designs offer options on things like vertical roof panels which run from the peak side of the garage to aid with drainage and are recommended in areas that see higher than average rain or snowfall. Other customizable options for metal garages include gable ends for the front, back, or for both ends of the garage, which add to the aesthetic value of the metal structure if it is in a highly visible area. This can be a very important consideration for someone who wants to install a metal garage right next to their home and are worried about affecting their home¡¯s curb appeal. Cars aren¡¯t the only things that can be stored within the comfortable steel surroundings of a metal garage. Metal garages can also house vehicles such as RV¡¯s, boats, motorcycles, ATV¡¯s, or snowmobiles. They can be nifty storage buildings for just about anything non-vehicle related as well. When shopping for a metal garage, be sure to do your research to make sure that the company you choose has the right building to suit your needs. Also ask about shipping and installation costs and any additional costs that may be added for modifications, styles, and colors. And ask your sales rep if there is a warranty or repair plan available. Most importantly, find out how long it will take to install your metal garage once it¡¯s ordered. Sometimes they can be installed in as litle as two weeks.
